Description: Here is a very nice pair of The Copper Shop of the Roycrofters hammered copper bookends with repoussé design of Trillium flowers by the important Roycrofters designer and craftsman Karl Kipp. Kipp was a former banker who became one of the most influential designers and craftsman at the Roycroft Shops, who laterwent on to establish the Tookay Shop where some of the finest metalwork of the Arts and Crafts movement was made.
This appears to have been a popular design element for Roycroft, which we have seen used on other copper items produced by the firm, and is now being reproduced by firms producing contemporary arts and crafts items. These retain their original patina and have an early Roycroft mark. If you check eBay and other online market places you can find these selling well above $500.
