Marcus Heimann Vase
Marcus Heimann Vase
Designer: Marcus Heimann
Item: Large American Studio Pottery Vessel Vase
Manufactured by: Marcus Heimann
Country of origin: United States
Year made: Circa 1971
Materials: Ceramic and glaze
Dimensions: 11 ½” x 8”
Description: From the limited amount of information available about Heimann on-line, he lived in Connecticut and traveled to Sanibel Island, Florida to work during the winter months. This is mentioned in a local newspaper from 1971 that described his presence there throwing pots. This exceptional and large work of stoneware was made there as is evidenced by the word Sanibel engraved on the bottom under his signature. We have not been able to find other examples of his work, but an important dealer in American Studio pottery alerted us to his work after a nearly fruitless search. This is very heavy weighing 11 pounds unpacked so shipping will be expensive.
Condition: Excellent, no chips, cracks or damage.
Due to this vase’s weight it may require additional shipping costs. We estimate about $50 for sale shipping.
