Description: The Stern Fruit Bowl is another one of the iconic designs by Stern for Swid Powell. These are heavy and well made objects. This retains the “Swid Powell”, “Made in Italy” marks and Stern’s signature on the underside. Examples of this bowl can be found in the collections of the Dallas Art Museum, Yale University Art Gallery, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Yale University Art Gallery also has the original design drawing for this candlestick in its collection.
These bowls are difficult to find, but we have been fortunate to have been able to acquire two of them (see the last photo). This example is in excellent condition, while the other is in very good condition with some use scratching on the interior and therefore is available at a lower price, but still presents extremely well. If you are interested in the lower priced version please email us for details.
