Description: This is one of the hardest to find picture frame designs retailed by Swid Powell. Designed in 1986 it appears this frame was likely only produced for one season, thus its extreme scarcity. Almost all of the objects designed early in the Swid Powell oeuvre by Tigerman and McCurry were ceramic. The only other metal objects credited as Tigerman designs for Swid Powell came much later (circa 1995) in aluminum. This frame appears to be the only silver object by these designers for Swid Powell and it bears the engraved signatures of both Tigerman and McCurry on the bottom as shown. An example can be found in the Yale University Art Gallery collection donated in 2011 by Nan Swid from her personal collection. We have only seen three others of this model in over 15 years of searching, and neither were in this amazingly excellent condition.
