Condition: Very good. Some minor dings to one corner of each base that are not noticeable. Some minor tarnishing, polishing marks and light scratching.

Description: The Metropolitan candlestick by Stern is another one of the iconic designs for Swid Powell. These are very heavy and well made, and we recently verified that these were produced by the famed Cleto Munari Company. The tops unscrew from the stem and the stem is screwed into the base so they can be disassembled. These were very expensive items when they were originally retailed. This set retains the “Swid Powell”, “Made in Italy” marks and Stern’s signature on the underside of each. Examples can be found in the collections of the Dallas Art Museum, Yale University Art Gallery, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Yale University Art Gallery also has the original design drawing for this candlestick in its collection.
