Description: Here is a terrific machinist made bud vase in brass in the machine age style. This little beauty dates to the late 1930s or early 1940s. The acrylic tube to hold the water is a later replacement for what was likely a glass test tube that broke. This is an very well crafted object in a unique design that was born from a period that was exploring a modernist aesthetic. Clearly whoever made this was exposed to modernist designs. The brass shows exceptional workmanship and appears to have been crafted from a single solid piece of brass. It has developed a nice patina from age. We have never seen another like it.
