Description: The Courtney bowl, along with the Courtney vase and Courtney candlesticks are some of the most iconic designs for Swid Powell, but seem to be the most scarcely found. In our years of searching, the Courtney bowl is one of the hardest of the three designs to find and this is one of only about a dozen we have seen, and in the best condition. These were expensive items when they were originally retailed, and it does not appear that many were produced. This bowl retains the “Swid Powell Made in Italy” marks and “GS” signature on the underside on the cruciform base. The prototype for this bowl is in the Yale University Art Gallery collection.
