Description: Here is another classic early and well documented design by Carl Auböck II for a wine bottle holder and server. This appears to be an early example based on the patina on the brass and the cane wrapping. There are several different renditions of wine bottle holders designed by Auböck II, but this seems to be the most prevalent and certainly the most knocked off. Signed with the correct early impressed “Made in Austria” mark on the base. The cane is also in excellent condition for its age. This is pictured in the Kois book with a full page color photograph on page 112.
