Description: A scarcely found and terrific modernist design for an ashtray or bowl with two multi-functional handles. Most likely they were initially designed to hold a cigarette, but also serve as handles. We have only seen four others of this design come to market, and we were fortunate to be able to acquire two of them. Our other example will be listed separately due to condition variations. Marked as shown with the correct impressed Auböck signature and Made in Austria markings. The original drawings for this are found in the two Archiv books referenced above, and based on the reference materials the design dates to 1950 to 1956.
