Description:  Here is one of the larger Elkan burl boxes we have been able to find.  It is an object of real beauty.  Elkan’s work has become increasingly popular due to his outstanding designs, superb craftsmanship, selection of wood, and the affiliations he made during his career.  George Nakashima retailed Elkan’s work in Nakashima’s studio shop during his lifetime, and Elkan’s work has been collected by many well known celebrities, such as George Bush Sr., Val Kilmer, Robert Plant, Dan Rather, Carly Simon, as well as notable public museums and large corporate collections such as Dow Chemical. We have other Elkan burl boxes in inventory but not currently on the website.
