Condition: Excellent with minimal wear and patina loss in the well of the tray as shown.

Description: Another great modern design by Karl or Franz Hagenauer.  We have seen a few different versions of Hagenauer fish ashtrays each being an abstracted, but as an identifiable form.  Illustrated in the 2011 exhibition catalog Hagenauer: Wiener Moderne Und Neue Sachlichkeit.  Marked on the bottom “Handmade”, “wHw” mark, “Made in Vienna Austria” and “Hagenauer Wien”.  This is a very rare object and we have only seen one other. It is likely not many were produced.
