Description: Here is another classic Carl Auböck whimsical design. Based on the weight and construction this appears to be an early version of this design. This is much heavier and thicker brass than the 1950s or later versions. The brass has a terrific patina and the steel screw has some oxidation and rust towards the end as to be expected for an object this age, but other than that it is in really nice condition. It is marked with the standard “Made in Austria” used by Auböck on the lower portion of the horn. We have seen these signed just like this, some with just “Auböck” and some unsigned. The newer versions that are currently being produced by Carl Auböck IV are signed with both and are in a highly polished brass finish. This is a true vintage model made by his grandfather.
