Description: Carl Auböck II designed the first iteration of this famous padlock ashtray design, Model #2217 in about 1935 and then his son Carl Auböck III revamped the design as Model #5012 in about 1950 with straighter, cleaner and more modern lines.  This version is also a little smaller and lighter than the original model 3317.  Both models are highly collectable.  Impressed with the correct Auböck and Made in Austria marks on the back, as shown.
