Description: Here is a pair of Curry’s less well known, but highly sought after bookend designs. These came in several finishes, including black, stainless, olive green and orange. The black and stainless are more easily found, but the orange seems to be much scarcer. This pair is in excellent condition with no flaws and retaining the original labels on the bottoms. They are very heavy for their size, each weighing in about 3 ½ pounds, so they really do hold up books. We found illustrations of these in some early catalogs issued by the company. Although Curry died in 1971, his wife kept the firm open just a few more years when many of his most classic designs were produced. We purchased these from the heirs of a family that bought them new in the early 1970s and they sat on a bookshelf holding up books until the original passed away.
