Description: Here is a beautiful jewelry box made of Brazilian Rosewood by Alfred Klitgaard with the enamel plaque inlay by fine artist Bodil Eje, both of Denmark. Klitgaard worked with a few other enamel artists for the decorations on his rosewood creations, but it seems that his work with Eje is some of the more highly sought after. This is a larger sized box than normally is seen, and is very functional. It has a removable and sliding tray and its original suede leather interior to protect jewelry from scratching.Signed on the bottom “Klitgaard Denmark” with his usual impressed mark.We do not believe his work was exported in any regular manner, thus it’s scarcity in the United States and outside Denmark.Additionally, because each object was handmade by Klitgaard to exacting standards production volume was low.
